Top 20 Budget Reverb Pedals Under $50, $100, $150, $200

Reverb is one of the most popular effects you can find for electric guitars. The word reverb is short for reverberation, which represents the persistence of sound in acoustics. Of course, the pedal you can buy only simulates reverberation, and the idea is to make the sound richer and fuller.

While the reverb effect is rather popular for acoustic guitars, this doesn’t mean that you can’t use it on electric ones as well. Furthermore, many amplifiers come with a reverb effect on them, and probably the most popular one is Fender Twin Reverb.

Whether your amp has reverb or not, you still might want to consider buying a separate pedal for it, since it will allow you to have better control of the effect if it is a part of the pedalboard. As with any other guitar effect you can imagine, the prices can vary based on the quality and brand.

Here, I will go through some of the best reverb pedals you can find based on different budgets. Naturally, you will always be able to find better effects if you are willing to invest more, but the primary focus here is on the budget gear.

Top 5 Budget Reverb Pedals Under $50

The first category is for the cheapest models you can find. Some of these pedals can sound quite good depending on the rest of the gear you own. Needless to say, with an expensive amp, the quality will be quite good, but there is a high chance that you already have a better reverb on the amp.

Moreover, some of the names in this category might not be the most recognizable in the business, but the most important thing is the sound of the pedal.

If you are interested to know more about this pedal, I have written in an in-depth review that you can check out Donner Verb Square (Evolution+) Reverb Pedal Review – Is It Worth The Money?

For years now, Donner has been a king of budget equipment. You can find any type of pedal by this manufacturer, and they are surprisingly good. The design of the pedal is quite simple. There is a footswitch for turning the effect on and off, and there are four knobs.

The main knob, which is the biggest, is used to select the type or mode of the reverb. The other three above it are for decay, level, and time. There are plenty of options for adjusting the sound, and if you aren’t willing to spend a lot of money on the pedal, Donner Verb Square is a great option.

  • True bypass
  • 9.5 ounces (269.32 grams)
  • 3.7 x 1.7 x 1.3 inches (9.4 x 4.32 x 3.3 centimeters)

The next one on the list is Azor AP311. The main quality of this pedal is the price, and you will hardly find a better model this cheap. Azor AP311 has two knobs you can use to adjust the tone. The first one is a mix knob that allows you to control the effect level, and the second one is dwell, which is used for tone.

Azor AP311 is easy to use since there are only two knobs and a footswitch, it works on a 9V power source (which is not included), and it sounds quite good. The pedal also has a true bypass.

Mosky offers another cheap yet great option for beginner guitarists, and even those with more experience. The overall design of the pedal is quite simple, and once again we have only two knobs. The first one is for mix and the second one is for dwell.

The pedal doesn’t come with tons of different options, and you can only use the spring reverb simulation. Mosky is an excellent choice for everyone who owns a smaller amp without reverb, and even though there aren’t many modes you can use, the one you get is quite good.

  • 4.41 x 2.52 x 1.34 inches (11.2 x 6.4 x 3.4 centimeters)

Caline Snake Bite is a budget reverb pedal, and it offers plenty of options for adjusting the sound. Firstly, there are six potentiometers for settings: res or resonant, cfr or center frequency, lpf or low pass filter, prd or pre-delay, mix for choosing between wet and dry, and decay to adjust the delay time.

All of this means that you will basically get an EQ as well, and you will have plenty of options for finding a perfect sound for your taste. The pedal is great for beginners as well as those with experience. Furthermore, you can use Caline Snake Bite even if you have reverb on your amp since it will give you more options.

The last model in this category is by Behringer. Probably the most surprising thing is that you can find such a good brand for under $50. The pedal has three main knobs for adjusting the tone, and one for selecting different modes.

As with any other Behringer pedal, the reverb is durable and well made. You won’t need to worry about anything happening to it, and the pedal sounds great. Especially if you consider the price. Needless to say, it is an excellent choice for both beginners and those experienced in playing the guitar.

Top 5 Budget Reverb Pedals Under $100

The next category is for pedals that are a bit more expensive, and cost between $50 and $100. One of the first things we can notice is that there are a lot more famous brands, and the quality is also increased.

Here, you will be able to find more options, in general, and the reverbs sound quite good. Of course, it is no surprise that increasing the price will improve the quality, but these pedals still fall in the budget category.

To start with the category, I will mention another Donner. This time, it is a Vintaverb pedal that comes with seven different reverb algorithms. There are four knobs on the pedal, and three of them are used to shape the sound, while the fourth one is for mode selection.

There is also a switch for pre-delay, and the pedal is really good. Vintaverb is a perfect example of Donner pedals where you will get tons of different options and sounds for an affordable price.

JHS is a lesser-known company designing pedals, and it comes from Kansas. The first thing I should mention is that you don’t often find pedals made in the U.S. for such a low price. The reverb pedal is one from the 3 Series, and there are a couple of other effects you might want to check out as well.

The overall design is quite simple. There are three knobs, and one switch for the pre-delay and the rest of the pedal is fairly standard. As for the sound, JHS Reverb is a great pedal and you will enjoy it if you decide to buy this model. While there might be those that aren’t satisfied with the sound, there is no denying that the pedal is great.

Joyo is another company that specializes in budget equipment, and R-14 Atmosphere is its version of the reverb pedal. The effect comes with nine different pre-built reverb modes, and you can select the one you like using the knob.

One of the interesting features is that the entire pedal lights up when you turn it on, so it is impossible to miss it even when playing on stage. As for the sound, R-14 is a great pedal, and it is a lot cheaper than you would’ve expected based on the sound and quality.

Flamma is another newcomer to the world of guitar effects, and here, we have FS02. It is a cheaper version of the pedal, but it still sounds great. It comes with seven different reverb modes like room, hall, church, and others, and each of these modes simulates a different space.

You can also create your own effect and store it in the memory. Additionally, there are five knobs to adjust the sound, and you can play with them to find something you’ll enjoy. The pedal is quite versatile and gives you plenty of options to create a beautiful reverb.

TC Electronic is another company that recently started gaining popularity due to the quality of its equipment. At the same time, the prices are usually significantly lower compared to the alternatives, which makes it great for people who are looking to experiment with gear.

Skysurfer is a reverb pedal that offers plenty of options when it comes to adjusting the tone. There are three knobs and one toggle switch. The pedal is also available in the compact version, so it won’t take a lot of space on your pedalboard. As for the sound, Skysurfer sounds incredible if you pair it with a good amp.

Top 5 Budget Reverb Pedals Under $150

As we go up the price range, we can notice more and more famous brands and pedals that people enjoy using. Here, we have reverb pedals between $100 and $150. Keep in mind that this is still a budget category, which means that the pedals are not ideal. However, they can still offer beautiful sound for a lower price.

We will also notice a couple of upgraded models from the previous categories in this price range. It is worth mentioning that for this amount of money, you’ll be able to get incredible pedals from less-known brands.

  • Durable
  • 1.01 pounds (458.13 grams)
  • 3.35 x 4.73 x 1.3 inches (8.51 x 12.01 x 3.3 centimeters)

One of the first things I should mention is that the pedal is a two-in-one model. You will get both delay and reverb with this one. While there are eight potentiometers on it, you can use four per effect. The first four are for delay (level, time, tone, and feedback), while the second four are for the reverb (level, decay, tone, and pre-delay).

Needless to say, if you are looking for a reverb pedal only, this might not be the best choice. You can find cheaper models with a single effect. However, if you are looking to get both reverb and delay, this option is amazing. You can use the switch to select one effect or both at the same time.

It offers the same quality in a mini version, which is perfect for those that don’t want to sacrifice space on their pedalboards.

HOF2 brings a whole new range of features you can use, and you can select between true bypass and buffered bypass. TC Electronic Hall of Fame 2 gives you excellent sound, and it isn’t as expensive as the alternative. If you are interested in great-sounding reverb, you will love HOF2.

The pedal also comes with tap tempo and shimmer effect, and it sounds quite good. Naturally, the size of the pedal is a bit larger compared to other models, but that shouldn’t be a problem. What is important is that Nux Atlantic gives you a chance to experiment with incredible effects.

The pedal gives you plenty of options to experiment with the sound, and you can create a pretty good tone with it. Additionally, the pedal has knobs to adjust reverb, tone, and mix as well. It is obvious from the start that this pedal is different compared to something standard like spring reverb, and it can be a nice addition to your pedalboard.

As with other models by Boss, this reverb has a standard design. It’s durable, sturdy, and nothing could happen to it.

Boss RV-6 has four knobs you can use to adjust the sound and select one of the reverb modes. All things considered, you can’t really go wrong with Boss, and it is an excellent choice for both beginners and those with more experience.

Top 5 Budget Reverb Pedals Under $200

The final category is for pedals between $150 and $200. Going about this price range could hardly be considered as a budget option, and we would step in the range of professional equipment.

This, of course, doesn’t mean that you won’t find incredible pedals under $200. In fact, you will notice a couple of famous brands known for designing amazing gear.

Summary

Finding a perfect pedal can often be tough, especially if you are trying to find one on a budget. Of course, if you are looking for the simplest possible reverb, you can easily find a couple of great pedals for under $50 or $100.

Naturally, it is all up to personal preference and what you are trying to achieve with the reverb. The most important thing is that you have plenty of different options, and you will be able to find something you’ll enjoy.
