Top 20 Budget Delay Pedals Under $50, $100, $150, $200

Delay is one of the essential pieces of equipment you need to have. The pedal is designed to play back the signal of the guitar, and it gives you a lot of options you can use to make things even more exciting.

One of the primary reasons for the popularity of delay pedals is that they are so versatile. You can use them as reverb, compressor, echo, chorus, and other effects, and the only thing you need to do is adjust the knobs. Each delay pedal will give you a couple of options, and you will be able to find something you’ll enjoy.

Naturally, the prices of these pedals can vary. While you can find budget models, the more you increase the price range, the better the sound will be.

Top 5 Budget Delay Guitar Pedals Under $50

The first category is reserved for the cheapest models you can find, and there are still plenty of options if you are not willing to invest a lot of money. Getting one of these pedals will still do the trick, and you will get an overall idea of what delay pedals can do.

Of course, if you enjoy the effect delay pedals can make, you can always upgrade to a more expensive version if you feel like it.

  • 8 ounces (226.8 grams)

The first one on the list comes from Donner. The company has been around for a while, and it’s known for designing great gear for affordable prices. Yellow Fall is a simple pedal that gives you plenty of options when creating the sound. While the company claims that the pedal is completely analog, it has an analog emulation chip inside. Not that this should stop you from trying it.

There are three knobs you can use. The biggest one controls the delay, and you can choose between 20 ms and 620 ms. There is also a knob to control feedback, and one for the delay level marked as an echo. The casing is made of metal, and the pedal is quite durable and well-made.

Rowing is another budget delay you can try, and it’s quite good for the price. One of the first things you’ll notice is that the design is rather similar to the donner pedal. The most important thing here is that the sound is amazing if you combine it with another pedal, and it will give you plenty of options to adjust the sound.

As with the Donner pedal, you get three knobs. There is one to control time, feedback, and echo. Furthermore, the pedal has a true bypass, and it works on a 9V battery. Naturally, the selling point here is the price, and you will have a hard time finding a cheaper delay pedal.

The first thing you might notice is that the design of this pedal is similar to other models by the same brand. The case is made of metal, it’s sturdy, and you can use it for as long as you like without worrying about potential damage.

As for the sound, the Behringer VD400 gives you plenty of options to adjust the tone, and the pedal works on a 9V battery.

  • 4.45 x 2.52 x 2.09 inches (11.3 x 6.4 x 5.31 centimeters)

Another Donner you can try out is White Tape. The main difference here is that the pedal is stereo, and you’ll get a set of controls for both channels. This is also the reason why there are six knobs instead of three. You have an option to control time, feedback, and level for both channels individually.

The pedal is well-made, looks great, and it’s worth the money if you are interested in owning a stereo delay. Of course, this might not be a perfect choice for everyone, but those that would like something like this will be satisfied.

As for the sound, Ghost Rain is a decent pedal. Especially if you have the rest of the equipment that’s also good. Even though the pedal has a “reverb” written on it, there is no reverb with Ghost Rain. Instead, it is a combination of echo and delay.

Furthermore, there is a feedback knob as you would expect and delay time. You can use the effects simultaneously or together in a mix.

It is an interesting pedal, and it gives you plenty of options to adjust the sound and play with the effect. The best thing about it is that it still falls in the budget category, and you won’t need to buy separate pedals if you want both of these effects.

Summary

Finding a perfect pedal can be challenging, especially if you are working on a budget. Fortunately, you still have plenty of options to find if you are looking for a delay pedal. The cheapest models are slightly under $50, but they can be quite good based on what you’re looking for.

Naturally, as you increase the price the quality increases as well. More expensive models are around $100 to $150, and you can find incredible pedals for under $200. It all comes down to what you’re looking for, and how much you’re willing to spend.

If you want to have a simple delay pedal, you can go for the budget versions. However, if you want something with additional effects and options, you might need to spend a bit more.
