If you listen to modern music, you probably heard about pitch correction or autotune. Pitch correction is a relatively new technique that has been around since the 90s, which helps singers digitally adjust the pitch of sung vocals in recordings. While many software is doing the job, there are also reliable pedals and gear that help you correct your pitch and stay in tune while you sing.
- The FV01 vocal effects Corrector is primarily a pitch-correction pedal that...
- The FV01 features three separate vocal effects as indicated by the TONE LED...
- Singers can switch between WARM, BRIGHT, and NORMAL modes, with each mode...
- It can be used as a microphone amplifier or a traditional stompbox....
One of the best value vocal pitch correction pedals today is the FLAMMA FV01 Vocal Pitch Correction Pedal, which helps you enhance your vocal performance.
Plus, the pedal comes with great vocal effects like reverb and delay to add more color to your sound. It has instrument and XLR input-outputs for instruments and microphones, along with optional 48V phantom power for mics. For the price offered, it is a highly versatile and feature-packed stompbox.
Pros | Cons |
Great value for the price | The footswitch controls on and off and additional features. |
Versatile with different vocal effects | Bulky design |
Built-in Tap Tempo | |
Optional 48V phantom power | |

On the down part, some users found it hard to activate the pitch correction and the effects with the footswitch, as it requires you to tap it multiple times to activate them. Also, it is quite a bulky pedal, which makes it less portable and find proper space in the pedalboard.
Besides these minor issues, it is a great pedal to have with its versatile design and reliable pitch correction, along with great effects. I would rate it 4 stars out of 5.

Flamma FV01 Vocal Pitch Correction Pedal comes in a red aluminum casing with white branding, giving it an elegant, premium look. It has a three-knob design with a footswitch, making it a pretty straightforward pedal.
Although the pedal is slightly large compared to other pedals, it is actually pretty light. The weight is around 0.82 lbs (0.37kg), while the dimensions are 3.4” (8.6 cm), 4.9” (12.5 cm), and 2.4” (6 cm).
It comes with three different delays and three different reverb effects, along with three different vocal tone colors. All effects are controlled with dedicated knobs as there are delay, reverb, and pitch correction knobs on the control panel, which are there to select the effect mode as well as adjust the intensity of the effect. Plus, there is the Vocal Tone button, allowing you to choose vocal tone color.
The reverb types you can choose are Room, Hall, and Plate reverb; you can also reach the hidden mode by pressing and holding the footswitch, which turns the effect off.
On the delay side, the pedal offers Tape delay, Digital delay, and Slap delay effect types. The intensity can be adjusted with the knob, while the delay time can be adjusted with the correction knob. Also, the footswitch can act as a Tap Tempo for the delay effect.
The vocal tone mode button is there to give you three vocal tonal colors: warm, normal, and bright. Around the button, there are LED lights showing the current mode the pedal is in. Red indicates warm, blue indicates bright, while no light means normal mode.
The pitch correction knob allows you to adjust the intensity of the pitch correction. So, when you crank it up, the sound becomes a more robotic autotune effect, while when you turn it down, the correction will be more subtle. Keep in mind that it always corrects to the nearest note you are trying to sing.
The footswitch is a multifunctional one. When you press it once, it turns on the pitch correction, delay, and reverb knobs; pressing it twice turns off the pitch correction, and pressing it three times turns the pedal off completely. Also, when the effects are on, you can press the footswitch twice quickly to turn off each effect.
The pedal has two output modes with individual, mixed, and switch between modes. The individual mode separates the signals so that the guitar signal goes out from the guitar input and the mic signal goes out from the XLR output. The mixed mode, as the name suggests, mixes both signals. To switch between modes, you have to press and hold the footswitch while powering on the pedal. The LEDs around the Tone knob and the footswitch will blink in red to indicate that the signal mode has changed.
Furthermore, the pedal has 48V phantom power for condenser mics. It can act as a microphone amplifier or a traditional stompbox.
The pedal has a 1/4″ mono audio jack, XLR balanced input jack as inputs and 1/4″ mono audio jack, XLR balanced output jack as outputs. Also, it comes with an AC adapter 9V DC as its power supply.

FLAMMA FV01 Sound Quality
The sound quality of the Flamma FV01 Vocal Pitch Correction Pedal is pretty impressive as it offers a good pitch correction as well as a pretty good range of effects for vocals and guitars.
If you can sing more or less correctly it will make your singing better and close to the note you are trying to hit. But the pedal can’t correct a wrong note, so if you are singing the wrong note it will just correct them to the nearest notes, which will probably be a wrong note still.
On the reverb side, you have room reverb with low decay, huge hall reverb, and classic plate reverb. They all sound great and respond well to the adjustments. Especially the plate reverb sounds pretty good, adding a bit of that vintage reverb effect to your sound.
The delay choices are warm tape delay, digital-modern delay with distinct replay, and classic slap delay. You can adjust the delay time with the correction knob or use the footswitch as a tap tempo to adjust the replay time.
The EQ manipulation button, aka the vocal tone button, is also great for sonic versatility as it offers the warm mode, which has more low-end frequency emphasis, and the bright mode, which is with more high-end frequency emphasis.
The overall sound quality of the pedal is pretty great, and the effect quality is also impressive. While they are more suited toward vocals, they can get the job done for the guitar as well. But I recommend you use different pedals for instruments, as this is specifically made for vocals.
FLAMMA FV01 Compared To Other Pedals
Boss VE-20 Vocal Effects Processor
- Vocal Processor Effects Pedal with 3-part Harmony
- 38-second Phrase Looper with Phantom Power
- Distortion
- Disttion
Boss VE-20 is an extremely versatile and high-end vocal processor that helps any singer significantly on the stage. It features Dynamics, Pitch Correction, Tone-SFX, Double Harmony, Delay, and Reverb effects.
While it is much more versatile compared to the Flamma FV01, as it has many extra features and effects, I will compare them in terms of their pitch correction performance. In that area, again, Boss VE-20 performs better and has more versatility compared to the FV01.
First, Boss VE-20 has four types of pitch correction modes, including soft, hard, electric, and robot modes. The soft mode is a subtle correction, while the hard mode is for quick adjustments. The electric mode offers a kind of stair-step type of pitch correction, and the robot mode reacts depending on the chosen note.
You can either select a key for the pitch correction or let the device adjust it automatically with the semitone’s approach. Plus, it has a gender mode that emphasizes masculine or feminine characteristics of your voice.
With all these features, Boss VE-20 is a more professional, more pricey, more versatile, and more complicated vocal pitch correction pedal compared to the Flamma FV01.
TC-Helicon VoiceTone C1
- Package Dimensions: 8.4 cms (L) x 14.2 cms (W) x 16.2 cms (H)
- Product Type: Sound And Recording Equipment
- Package Quantity: 1
- Country Of Origin: Thailand
TC-Helicon VoiceTone C1 is a dominant force in the pitch correction gear world, as it has been around for a while and has become one of the most popular pitch correction units.
It is a simple pedal that resembles the Flamma FV01 unit. It comes with a three-knob layout with the pitch correction intensity knob called “off,” a gender knob to emphasize the gender characteristics of the singer, and a key knob to adjust the key you are singing so the autotune can catch the pitch. It also has a footswitch to turn on or off the correction effect.
Another great feature of the pedal is the “Let The Guitar Decide” mode. You can plug in your guitar to the pedal, and it will automatically recognize the notes and the chords to correct your singing pitch. So you do not have to choose a key from the pedal.
Compared to the Flamma FV01, Voicetone C1 lack vocal effects like delay and reverb. The pitch correction performances of both pedals are similar, they get the job done brilliantly, but Flamma is more versatile when it comes to overall specs. However, the let the guitar mode can be a game changer if you just want the pitch correction effect and do not care about other extra effects.
TC-Helicon VoiceTone C1 costs more than the Flamma FV01 unit.
Electro-Harmonix V256 Vocoder with Reflex-Tune
Electro-Harmonix V256 Vocoder with Reflex-Tune is another highly versatile vocal multi-effects processor that comes with many different effects such as vocoder, gender bender, pitch shifter, Reflex Tune for articulate Vocal pitch correction, 3 Robotic voices, and single, major, and minor drones all with pitch control and Transposition for pitch shifting.
Again I will compare the pedals with more emphasis on the pitch correction versatility and quality. The Reflex Tune is one of the best pitch correction circuits around, and you can adjust it as you like playing with the intensity and the pitch.
It is a pedal that is a bit complicated to use as it has many effects and odd sounds to play with. If you are after a vocal effects processor to create odd sounds and different effects and if you are not satisfied just with a pitch correction unit, this one is ideal for you.
Just for the pitch correction, Flamma FV01 is a better unit, in my opinion, as it is more focused on that and offers more control over your autotune. But, as an all-in-one vocal effects package Electro-Harmonix V256 Vocoder with Reflex-Tune is hard to beat.
Electro-Harmonix V256 Vocoder costs double the price of Flamma FV01.
FLAMMA FV01 Is Perfect For Whom?
Flamma FV01 Vocal Pitch Correction Pedal is perfect for any singer who wants a little help on the stage to stay in tune all the time. While it is a cost-effective pedal, it works great and gets the job done pretty impressively.
It can work for any singer and for any genre. You can use it to get help to stay in tune or use it as a vocal effect pedal to use the robotic autotune effect for your songs. Also, with the reverb and delay effects added, the pedal works great and sounds pretty amazing, making it a great choice for any singer.
As I mentioned earlier if you can’t sing at all or sing the wrong notes the pedal won’t make it any better. The pedal won’t magically correct your voice to the song you are trying to sing, you need to know what notes you are trying to sing.

The pitch correction circuit is automatic, which recognizes the note you are singing and shifts the frequency to the closest pitch possible. It has XLR input and outputs along with a USB port.
Conclusion
In short, Flamma FV01 is a great vocal pitch correction pedal that comes with a great value for price ratio. It has extra effects like reverb and delay, along with a great pitch correction circuit to enhance your vocals.
There is not much to say against it as it gives you great versatility, allowing you to use a subtle pitch correction circuit or a more aggressive one that makes you sound more robotic, like the autotune effect of the modern era.
If you are looking for a cost-effective pitch correction pedal, Flamma FV01 is really hard-to-beat for the price offered.
